In follow-up from last week’s mid-season power rankings, Reese will take each team and propose a trade that could make sense for their roster. Trade proposals are in a vacuum and what makes sense for one team may not make sense for the other team in the trade from a roster building standpoint. Records listed are from prior to week 7.
VFT, 4-2
Steady does it. VFT keeps chugging along with another projected 130 point game and win in week 7. Wide receiver depth continues to be a challenge for this roster, which leads into the following trade proposal:
VFT Receives from SIR: Zay Flowers
VFT Sends to SIR: Jared Goff, 2026 2nd
VFT adds another younger WR into the mix who could be a solid FLEX play instead of rocking 2 TEs. SIR would gain a top-10 QB who is an upgrade and can fill gaps when Penix is unavailable plus the opportunity to move on to future assets. Flowers hasn’t been a game changer yet and SIR is still some time away from being a contender.
AZA , 4-2
AZA is one of the more difficult teams to find a trade for due to their apparent lack of roster holes. Perhaps an upgrade at RB3 or some current draft assets to help cover upcoming FA losses may be of use.
AZA Receives from MN: Alvin Kamara
AZA Sends to MN: Brian Robinson, 2027 2nd
Although a modest upgrade at RB depth, MN gets some return on an expiring asset while AZA can feel a bit more confident plugging in a backup during RB injuries and bye weeks.
CAP, 4-2
After shoring up at RB through in-season trades, it has surprisingly been the WRs who have been inconsistent and causing problems to the weekly production of this roster.
CAP Receives from WISC: Rashee Rice, Jacobi Meyers
CAP Sends to WISC: Brian Thomas, Jr., Pat Bryant
A top-end WR swap, CAP bets on the chemistry Rice showed in week 7 in his return with Mahomes and pursues an older player to help win now while WISC stakes his claim on BTJ returning to dominance after a slow start to the year and a younger player who could develop in this rosters timeline.
DUCK, 4-2
Boom or bust roulette has been the story of this roster. It may be time to trade some upside for stability at WR or QB.
DUCK Receives from AZA: DK Metcalf, Michael Carter
DUCK Sends to AZA: D’Andre Swift, 2026 3rd
AZA would gain a decent RB3 while finally selling the often shopped DK to a team that just needs 8-12 points a week with higher upside. DUCK is losing some quality depth at RB, where they still project to be top-half in the league for the rest of year, and upgrading their WR room significantly. DK/Rome combination could be very interesting to see.
TXTF, 4-2
Injuries have killed depth for TXTF but Tre has navigated his bench wisely to get enough points out of his stopgap players to stay in it as Pearsall and Bucky come back into play.
TXTF Receives from VFT: Rachaad White, Khalil Shakir
TXTF Sends to VFT: Woody Marks, Josh Downs, 2028 2nd
TXTF would receive immediate relief at RB and WR, while getting the [fantasy] capable backup to RB star Bucky and a consistent weapon for the Bills in Shakir. There would be some sacrifice at youth and upside, although Marks carries risk and Downs has hardly been a reliable play even with the unexpected resurgence of Daniel Jones on the Colts. White just seems like a good fit for TXTF to acquire from a team who needs to capitalize on his temporary value. Another target for TXTF could be Breece Hall from VIR.
VIR, 3-3
A recent trade for WR and RB depth has already proven useful to VIR, although this team needs to decide if they will want to make a playoff push or settle for next year after likely falling to 3-4 after week 7.
VIR Receives from MAR: 2026 1st, Keenan Allen
VIR Sends to MAR: Breece Hall, David Njoku, 2026 3rd
VIR can walk away from this trade having lost minimal depth at RB, acquired a future first to help make the next step in roster building, and improved the WR depth somewhat more. MAR would indicate his official transition to the future and bet that Hall and Njoku signing new contracts in the NFL this next offseason with teams that want them will be more than enough for selling one of multiple first round picks.
SD, 3-3
Overexposure to the Eagles is leaving SD with a shot at the playoffs but the accompanied volatility could keep them out of the race.
SD Receives from MN: Justin Jefferson, 2026 3rd
SD Sends to MN: AJ Brown, 2026 1st, 2027 2nd
SD would turn into a buyer and commit to their current strategy for at least another year. Leveraging Brown's higher value of the PHI WR duo, SD may be able to entice the elite WR Jefferson from a rebuilding MN who could end up with 3 first round picks in 2026 to start filling roster holes while retaining one of the top WRs in the league. SD would walk away from this trade more confident in the ability of this roster to weather each week and can look for Jefferson and Barkley to bounce back as the season progresses.
IOWA, 5-1
Why not take advantage of riding an early season record which has resulted in IOWA sitting atop the Central division? Additional reliability at QB or RB could propel this roster into the playoffs as a top seed.
IOWA Receives from VFT: Jared Goff, Rhamondre Stevenson
IOWA Sends to VFT: James Connor, Quinten Johnston
It may not make sense to trade with another contender, but roster makeup made VFT a plausible fit for IOWA to make a deal with. IOWA would walk away with their first solid starting QB all season along with a starting (in the NFL) RB to set as RB3. VFT would be giving up minimal depth and and has the QBs to make this trade while adding a high-upside player at WR and a possible return of perennial top-15 RB Connor next season.
MI, 4-2
The Mitten Crushers got crushed badly in week 7. This roster is closer than expected to competing but questions at QB and RB continue to plague MI. This is another team that needs to decide if a playoff push is in the cards this year or if it makes sense to hold out for next year.
MI Receives from VIR: Breece Hall, Isaac TeSlaa
MI Sends to VIR: Tet McMillan, Jaydon Blue
MI would be able to acquire a (former) elite RB who is likely signing this offseason with a team who actually wants their services. VIR would finally get a young WR to build with. This trade would also include a swap of rookie prospects.
WISC, 1-5
Although WISC is not as bad as their record would indicate, they are not likely to be competing in 2025. In efforts to set sights on future seasons, WISC should look for a trade to improve future upside.
WISC Receives from DUCK: Dont’e Thornton, 2026 2nd
WISC Sends to DUCK: Cortland Sutton
Sutton is expected to lead Denver for the next few years and is a nice stack with Nix, but his top-12 performance is enough to garner a 2nd and interesting prospect from a contender who could use WR help. Sutton is on the older end of WISCs projected window to compete. Selling Dak to a QB needy team for a nice haul could be an interesting decision too.
MAR, 2-4
Mahomes' resurgence has been a revelation for MAR, although remains stuck with Kelce even as he ages out of relevancy. This team is not a competitor for 2025 but could position itself to be dangerous again in 2026.
MAR Receives from MI: 2026 2nd
MAR Sends to MI: Chubba Hubbard, Cooper Kupp
This trade only makes sense if MI decides to push for the playoffs and is looking for help at RB and some more WR depth for this season. MAR would make this trade to get a pick out of players that either don’t fit their roster for next year or simply won’t be on the team once 2025 is over.
SIR, 2-4
SIR has interesting players across the roster but needs to add reliable starters to all position groups to be competitive
SIR Receives from VIR: Breece Hall, 2026 3rd
SIR Sends to VIR: Tee Higgins, 2028 2nd
VIR has been involved in sending Breece to various different teams and a similar rationale holds true here. Hall could be a good upside play if he gets a new contract with a new team this offseason and SIR can sell a player near his peak to try to shore up at RB so that they can focus on other needs this offseason.
OKO, 1-5
The Outlaws are in a rough spot with injuries making it hard to determine what they even are working with. It may be time to sell aging assets now so that OKO can build their roster for the future.
OKO Receives from TXTF: Malik Nabers, Woody Marks
OKO Sends to TXTF: Derrick Henry, Nick Chubb, 2026 1st
OKO sells their first for one of the most exciting and dynamic young WRs who should be returning once the Outlaws are ready to compete again. TXTF would get future compensation plus the upside they need to win now.
MN, 1-5
MN is not too far off competing should they find another starting WR or RB. In all honesty, if MN can fill out some more depth, this roster could result in a much better outcome just a year from now.
MN Receives from IOWA: Cam Ward, 2026 2nd
MN Sends to IOWA: Alvin Kamara, Trevor Lawrence, 2026 3rd
If IOWA wants to take a shot in the playoffs, any improvement at QB and RB would be a help. A season-long rental and a younger QB in exchange for Ward, who may need time to develop, could make sense. MN would look to move up in the draft slightly and get a younger player who can possibly develop in the upcoming years. This would also allow for some return on a player who is currently worthless to MN in Kamara.
